This design is purple heart-heavy with maple stripes, bringing the image of the military purple heart ribbon to life. It was created to honor my grandfather who served in the Army in World War II and received a purple heart in the Pacific campaign. The design name of Semper Fi is the Marine motto (shortened from Semper Fidelis, which is Latin for “Always Faithful”), in recognition of my father, a Marine veteran who served in Vietnam. This design is not only a tribute to these two men, but to the bravery and sacrifice of all service members, veterans, and first responders.
